OVERALL RATING:
If you're looking for a "stress-relieving" way to eat, an escape from traffic along Meralco Ave. during a Friday's 6-7pm hell-spawn traffic, or just a place to eat with your family to celebrate the start of the weekends, Banchetto is the place to be!
If you're a fan of "The Street-food Ambiance", this place is a sure spot for you!
From scrumptious rice and viand meals, to yummy corn dogs, and a lot more! Be surprised!
Me and my girlfriend went here on our 4th anniversary (March 9, 2012). We were crossing EDSA from POEA to Robinson's Galleria in search of a place to eat. And she said it's a Friday today, why don't we try Banchetto. I was thinking twice because traffic is being a B**CH that night (It was about 7-8pm? I think?). But she was so persistent on the matter until I gave in just in time to turn along Meralco Ave. At first, we got hella lost (NOOB AT DIRECTIONS HERE). But after a little "Ask There, Ask Here" with friendly security guards along the area, the idea finally sank in my mind that I could have just driven straight along Meralco Ave. and didn't make any of those mistaken turns. After a 5-10min slow moving traffic, we finally got to the U-Turn slot that would direct us to the entrance of the place. Searching for parking was easy on the count of there's still a little amount of people eating there at that time. But as the night grew, the parking became really scarce. I guess it was our lucky anniversary! Our first meals were rice and viand meals. We grabbed a roast beef, mashed potato w/ rice meal set. At 80php a pop, it was really satisfying!
JUST LOOK AT MY GIRLFRIEND'S PRICELESS FACE!
After finding a table, I ordered 2 Mango Shakes from the nearby Shake-er-ry (I JUST INVENTED A WORD! YAY!) any how, THOSE SHAKES WERE TO DIE FOR! At 55php for a small one, and, if my memory serves me right, 75php for the big one, IT'S REALLY GOOD! It comes with a lot of fruity flavors like strawberry, melon, and coconut. I'm not really sure if they served it with chocolate and the like. Anyway, I couldn't take a picture of it because after I realize that I should take a picture, it's already magically gone into my tummy. Leaving memories of mango goodness.
After awhile, we went for a walk and saw this corn dog stand.
We could not hold on to ourselves and ordered us some of those bad boys! My GF ordered a small corn dog while I ordered the bigger one (That's what she said) I sprinkled mine with Mayo, Ketchup, and Mustard; while she had the Mayo and ketchup only. Unfortunately, I finished mine (AGAIN) without taking a picture of it. But luckily, my GF eats slowly and I was able to take a pic of her corn dog.
We were basically full. But what the heck! It's our anniversary and we want to pig out more! We were walking around and all we can see are BBQs, Chicken, and other heavy meals. But luckily, we saw this "Fish Ball"-ish stand. It's like one of those but with MORE sophisticated products to offer.
We grabbed a stick of crab meat and fish sticks. THEY WERE HELLA EXPENSIVE FOR THEIR SAKE (What can I say? I'm just a student! LOL) But the taste and yummy-ness made up for it. I couldn't remember the price per stick was but it's in the range of 35-50php per stick.
After all the walking and smelling of super delicious food, it was time to call it a night and go. We decided to buy desserts. Cake-pastries for the price of 100php/3 boxes. Not bad. But, again, we couldn't take a picture. I guess you already know why.
Banchetto has A LOT to offer. From fine dining, to pigging-out, this place can and will really satisfy you. Just bring enough bucks and you're set! Venture into an Overnight Feast with your family, your special someone, or just by yourself! Who knows, you might meet someone also pigging-out alone. Why not pig-out together at Banchetto!
